After making a "splash" two years ago with his Internet program, Brownie Troop Fishing Show (www.brownietroopfs.com), Dean Ween of famed avant-pop duo Ween got his formal certification as a Captain from the Federal authorities and has been offering his services as a fishing guide. While Brownie Troop Fishing show mainly followed his exploits on his beloved Delaware River his Guide Service is also very active in the Atlantic Ocean, operating out of Belmar, NJ.

"I am fortunate enough to live in a very productive area for both freshwater and saltwater fishing. I have been obsessed with fishing since I was a kid and have spent a good deal of my life fishing my local waters exhaustively. I am also lucky enough to be surrounded by some of the area’s finest and most experienced anglers, giving me accurate reports and information that will help us get the most out of our time on the water. The fishing trips on offer:

Delaware River Striped Bass - Early April to May

"Striped Bass enter our river every April to feed and spawn. We will be launching at first light from Trenton, NJ where we will proceed to “make bait”. This means jigging sabiki rigs to river herring, the primary forage bait of the Striped Bass in our river. After filling our live well with herring we will then drift and live line them to large Stripers that can range to 50 lbs. This is some of the most exciting fishing our river has to offer, fighting these massive ocean fish in the skinny river waters of the Delaware will make your heart pound."

Back to Clients

-------------------------------

Striped Bass Atlantic Ocean - May/July

"The Spring Striped Bass migration is the most anticipated season on our fishing calendar. June offers you the best chance at catching a Striper over 50 lbs every time you're on the water. We will be fishing aboard Archangel, my 23' Jones Brothers Cape Fisherman which is moored in Belmar, NJ. We will employ a number of tactics to catch trophy sized bass including live lining Bunker, casting topwater pencil poppers, swimmers, jigs, etc. Most of our clients catch the biggest fish of their lives during the spring run, that's why this has become our bread and butter."

Summer Bottom Fishing - Fluke/Sea Bass - July/September

"This is what I call 'fishing for the dinner table.' My 2 favorite eating fish can be caught in abundance during the dog days of summer. We will be fishing abnormal bottom structure for doormat Summer Flounder and Black Sea Bass and keeping everything within the legal limits for the grill! Expect a relaxing day on the water and a lot of fish! All trips leave from my marina in Belmar, NJ unless otherwise stated."

Fall Striped Bass and Bluefish - October/December

"Our second bass season of the year comes as the water cools and the Stripers head south towards their wintering grounds off the coast of the Carolinas. The fall run usually means trips with a lot of fish, and also usually means that large chopper Bluefish can be in the mix as well. Nothing says Fall like cold weather Striper fishing with some tackle busting Bluefish to boot."

Parties and special events

"Someone you know getting married? Has a special birthday? Whatever? These trips are the kind we dig the most. "We can arrange any kind of fishing outing you like, including chartering 100 foot fishing boats for all night deep sea fishing trips and heavy drinking and eating for up to 50 people. A fishing trip is the best gift one can receive in my opinion, whether it’s for one person or a huge gathering. Drop me a line or give me a call and we can discuss your options, and there are many."
